In 1996 three IT professionals with a wealth of knowledge in their field started to work together to write an multilingual Optical Character Recognition (OCR) system which was to be called ORCAS (Optical Recognition of Characters in All Systems).  The system had a mix success but their working relationship proved to be a success and OrcaSoft was created. 

OrcaSoft was formed in 1997 and it acquired a number of small but well-established consultancy companies, including AceData established in 1987. The company started by providing Project Managers and Development consultants to organisations such as Data General Inc. and Sema Group PLC.

Since then it has grown by only employing personally recommended associates, who are technically excellent, commercially aware individuals who care about quality and the customer relationship.
